Образование и кариера

Завършва Техникум по Механо-Електротехника в гр. Габрово 1960 - 1965 год. специалност "Студена обработка на металите. Инструментално дело" с отличен успех.
През периода 1968 - 1972 година е студент във ВИФ (НСА), катедра Туризъм - Алпинизъм, специалност Спортно ориентиране. Като отличен студент, участник в НИР и национален състезател е носител на Специалната стипендия на ВИФ и МНП.
След завършване на висшето си образование една година работи като Директор-преподавател в Детско-юношеска спортна школа, гр. Габрово.
От 1.01.1974 год. с конкурсен изпит е приет за първият редовен аспирант в катедра Теория на спортната тренировка.
През 1978 год. защитава (кандидатска) докторска дисертация на тема Изследване корелационно-факторната структура на спортното ориентиране (СО)
Като научен сътрудник І-ва степен е командирован в Центъра за научно-приложна дейност “ЦНПДС” към БСФС, за оказване на научна помощ на националните и олимпийски отбори. в направлението “Метрологично осигуряване и стандартизация на спортнопедагогическите изследвания”.
Има специализации в Румъния и Русия (Москва и Ленинград). От 1984 година се връща във ВИФ на преподавателска работа в катедрата, Сектор “Основи на научно-изследователска работа, Направление “Методология на научното изследване и спортна метрология”, където работи и в момента.
През 1988 година се хабилитира като доцент. Има допълнителна специализация в ЦСДК при НСА - “Управление на фирмената сигурност”.
Доц. Галов активно е участвал в дейността на Българската федерация по ориентиране (БФО). Бил е Председател на Треньорски съвет при БФО, Зам.председател на БФО, член на Комисията за ДЮС при Международната федерация по ориентиране (IOF), Главен съдия на VІ-то Световно първенство по ски ориентиране, България, 1986, Съдия Международна категория по ски ориентиране.. Носител е на спортни отличия, ордени и медали.

Член на:
1. Ръководител сектор: "Методология и Метрология" - Основи на научно изследователската работа
2. Член на "Експертен съвет " към "Комисия за олимпийска подготовка" в Министерство за младежта и спорта

Спортна дейност

Бил е активен спортист по ски бягане, ориентиране и ски-ориентиране. Бил е национален състезател и участник в световни първенства по ориентиране.
Майстор на спорта е по лятно и ски ориентиране.

Треньорска дейност

Бил е треньор на националните отбори - юноши и девойки, мъже и жени.
