IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS FOR THE SUMMER SEMESTER OF THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

1. Document Submission:
    • From March 10, 2025, to March 31, 2025,between 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at FSO, Room 211.
2. The Scholarship Application Form is available for download below. Students must print and fill it out. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

2.1. The completed application form must be submitted to Room 211, after which it will be registered in the records by an accountant.

3. Applicants must provide a certificate of enrollment for the semester, including their academic performance from the previous semester. Those applying for Type "A" scholarships must present proof of successfully passed exams and enrollment for the semester.

4. Required Gross Income earned between September 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, for all family members of the student, as per section 8.1 of the NSA Scholarship Regulations.

4.1. Official statements from parents’ employers must show gross income before tax and social security deductions, including bonuses and sick leave payments. The employer’s company registration number (BULSTAT) and exact address must be included. If sick leave payments were made during this period, an additional document from the National Social Security Institute (NOI) is required. Parents working part-time must provide both an employer statement and a notarized declaration confirming they have no other income.

4.2.For divorced parents, a copy of the divorce decree must be provided, along with proof of income for the parent with custody and a declaration from the student regarding any child support received. If a parent has remarried, the income of the new spouse is also considered.

4.3.For child benefits and social assistance, an official document from the Social Assistance Office is required.

4.4. Unmarried student mothers must submit an up-to-date certificate of family status from their municipality.

4.5.For freelancers or contract workers, the total contract income must be confirmed with an official employer document.

4.6.For pensioners, a breakdown of pension payments by month is required. Disability support benefits are excluded. These details must be verified by the Pension Department at NOI/RUSO.

4.7.For unemployed parents, a certificate of registration from the labor office and a statement of unemployment benefits received from NOI/RUSO must be provided. Only parents registered as unemployed for the entire required period qualify.

4.8.For self-employed individuals (traders, craftsmen, freelance professionals), income is determined as per the Corporate Income Tax Act. If the applicant is part of an LLC, the total dividends received must also be stated. A notarized declaration is required, including the owner’s full name, address, and BULSTAT number.

4.9.For farmers with seasonal income, half of the annual income from the current or previous year must be declared. A valid farmer registration certificate and a notarized declaration of income are required.

4.10.For student siblings, proof of enrollment and income statements for the required period must be provided. Scholarships under PMS 90 and school scholarships are excluded. If studying abroad, an enrollment certificate, a statement of received scholarships, and a notarized declaration of income (or employer letter) must be provided, translated into Bulgarian.

4.11. Students must provide their own gross income (salary certificate from employer, internship income declaration, pension certificate from NOI, etc.).

4.12. Income from rents, alimony, and other sources must be declared in a free-text statement.

4.13.Zero gross income is not accepted, except for student families.

5. Students enrolled in the summer semester with outstanding exams from previous years are ineligible for a scholarshipfor the entire academic year.

6.Type "A" scholarships are available to students who have passed all exams, regardless of GPA.

7. Type "A" scholarships are also available to student fathers with a child under 6 years old if the mother is not a student, is deceased, or has legally transferred parental rights to the student father.

8.Students applying for Type "A" scholarships must submit supporting documents once at their first application or if their circumstances change.

9. Students enrolled in a state-funded master's program can apply for a scholarship from the second semester, based on their winter session GPA, except those eligible for Type "A" scholarships, who may apply from the start of the academic year.

11.DOCUMENTS WITHOUT CALCULATED INCOME WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

12. Income verification is required for social scholarship applicants with a GPA of 4.00 – 4.99 and a family income of up to 933 BGN per member.

13. Students with a GPA of 5.00 – 6.00 do not need to provide income verification.

ONLY AN ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE FROM THEIR FACULTY IS REQUIRED.
